The Immaterial Ones
(Dedicated to Native Americans)
Written by Nikos Moschovos

Descendants of civilizations.
Lined faces
look sadly.
Bygone hymns they sing.
They stand, proud, on the mountain tops,
Forgotten.
They mourn, dancing,
they wait for the past future to come.
They fight,
but the indicator of time has left them behind.
The knowledge they touched.
Dash got away from them so simply.
They greet friendlily.
KINDLY FACES
how much agony they hide, one wonders.
THE VAGUE ONES
Became immaterial,
true angels they became,
without wings they were left,
fallen,
taken down from the cross
here, forever.
SONS AND DAUGHTERS
BROTHERS AND UNGLES
FATHERS AND MOTHERS
the broken chain they try to join.
The drums are rolling.
They are smiling,
tonight something has come from the past.
Here,
there,
elsewhere.
GOOD MORNING, they say to you jovially.
Blows they suffered
but they carry on
stubbornly.
They found an end to the thread of Truth.
WEAK DOORS
placed everywhere.
The opportunities were seized by the OTHERS.
The sun wept
as it was setting,
It asked:
How many years did it take you?
MANY, they replied.
Their baggage they took
and went away.
They disappeared,
The fire was still smouldering,
They were IMMATERIAL.
