I don’t want to be dragged
Like a lamb to the slaughter.
I don’t want to see
The closed crematoriums at dawn.
I don’t want to think
About how I’ am being killed.
I don’t want anyone
To decide for me.
I don’t want… I don’t want
to be so meanly sociable.
I don’t want
to be trodden upon.
I hate what they want me
to become.
Translation by Evi Papadima-Theodorakis
